Dramatik and 30 Quebec rap and hip-hop artists offer a donation of $100,000 to support the academic persistence of our youth!

The 1804 Fund for Academic Persistence is proud to announce a major donation of $100,000 from rapper Dramatik and 7th Sky Records, as part of the Royauté project. Under the musical direction of Jocelyn Bruno, aka Dramatik, the Royauté musical project involves a collective of over thirty artists, including Lost, Corneille, Jennie Laguerre, Barnev, and KNLO, among others. The funds will be distributed to persevering youth over a 10-year period in the form of “Royauté Scholarships.” These scholarships aim to celebrate their efforts and support them in reaching their full potential while also assisting with their post-secondary studies. Gatineau, January 27, 2024 – The Louverture-Mandela Leadership Academy (LLMA) is incredibly proud to announce that it has been honored at the recent Youth Afro Summit held in Gatineau on January 26, 27, and 28. Selected as part of the Promising Initiatives segment, LLMA was recognized for its significant impact and commitment to academic persistence.

The Promising Initiatives segment aims to highlight the efforts and achievements of organizations that are members of the Youth Afro Summit. LLMA had the honor of receiving this award, thus confirming its position as a flagship project of the 1804 Fund for Academic Persistence.

This success would not have been possible without the exceptional dedication of Arcelle Appolon and Fabienne Thélémaque, respectively the director and director of pedagogical affairs at LLMA, and all stakeholders involved. Their skills and commitment played a crucial role in achieving our objectives and the ongoing success of our academy. We also want to express our gratitude to all our scholars, especially Quemen from the 2022 cohort, who, accompanied by his mother, had the honor of receiving the award on behalf of LLMA.

A special thank you goes to our valuable partners: Collège André-Grasset, Caisse de dépôt et de placement du Québec (CDPQ), Banque Nationale, and the Youth Afro Summit. Their unwavering support plays an essential role in the success of our youth and in achieving our mission.

We are delighted to announce that the next cohort of LLMA will take place from July 22 to August 9, 2024, at Collège André-Grasset. We are eager to continue our commitment to educational excellence and academic persistence.
